Scoreboards Ipad Business Objects 4

Para utilizar las funciones de modelado en los informes móviles debemos utilizar las funciones siguientes en las tablas, básicamente dándole formato al nombre de la tabla y poniendo la función.

Según el manual tenemos las siguientes opciones:

ERR WIS 30270 en Business Objects 4 Windows 2008

La instalación de BO4, tiene un Bug, para solucionarlo debemos tener en cuenta estos puntos:

1. Es recomendable en el servidor tener dos unidades de disco, una para el SO y otra para la instalación de la plataforma. 
2. El sistema operativo tiene que tener el "Regional Settings" en INGLES
3. UAC y Firewall desactivado. Ejecuta siempre los instaladores con botón derecho “run as a administrator.”
4.  Cuando hayas instalado la plataforma empiezas con el SP y luego con el patch, bien antes de arrancar cada instalador (run as a administrator) SAP recomienda: Patch installation on WindowsYou must have Administrator privileges on your Windows system to run a SAP BusinessObjects Patch installation.
   
   In order to free resources on the machine on which you are installing this Patch, it is recommended
   
   that you use the Central Management Console (CMC) to stop all of the BI platform servers on the
   
   machine before installing the Patch, with the following exceptions:
   
   • Server Intelligence Agent (SIA)
   
   • Central Management Server (CMS)
   
   • Input and Output File Repository Servers (FRS)
   
   • CMS system database
   These services and servers must be running for the installation 
5.  SI aun así da problemas, arrancar el servicio con un usuario personalizado , con "regional settings" English.

Integración Business Objects XI 3.1 con Ipad

Recientemente en el App Store, se ha publicado la aplicación SAP Mobile BI, esta aplicación esta diseñada especialmente para el entorno de Business Objects 4.0. Pero si en nuestra arquitectura disponemos de la versión 3.1, podemos hacerlo funcionar, siguiendo los siguientes pasos:

1. Realizar Backup de nuestro servidor a nivel imagen o sanpshot.
2. Instalar el Service pack 4 de BO XI Edje 3.1 Server components , disponible en el MarketPlace.
3. Instalar el Service pack 4 de BO XI Edje 3.1 Client components , disponible en el MarketPlace.
4. Instalar el Service pack 4 de BO XI Edje 3.1 Mobile , disponible en el MarketPlace.
5. Configurar el Tomcat con el servicio Mobile.
6. Una vez realizados los puntos anteriores, dentro de BO debemos asignar a los informes que deseamos utilizar la categoría de mobile.
7. Instalar la app SAP Mobile BI en el Ipad disponible en el appStore y acceder a nuestro BO.
8. Se tendrán que realizar cambios en los informes, pero tranquilos son poco laboriosos. Sobretodo de diseño.

Como conclusión podemos decir, que además de implementar el servidor Mobile en BO, tenemos que modificar los documentos en Webi según el modelo de dispositivo que vamos a utilizar, en gran medida podremos “reutilizar” algunos informes. 

Como dato importante, decir que los informes de Xcelsius tampoco se verán con esta actualización, lo que sí permite es ver informes Webi que actualmente se quedan colgados o no realizan las funciones adecuadamente, si se entra modo Safari en el iPad. 

Para los informes de Xcelsius, según los propios foros de Sap se recomienda el uso de Roambi .

SAP BW y Busisness Objects

Recientemente he estado trabajando con las herramientas de SAP Datawarehouse 7.0 y Business Objects Versión 3.1. Mi experiencia es que la interacción desde Business Objects y SAP BW tiene muchas lagunas a mejorar.

1. La interacción no es total, ya que depende de querys de BI.
2. Xcelsius falla mucho a la hora de publicar informes , solamente funciona medianamente bien a partir del service pack 3.
3. Las estructuras se pierden al hacer actualizaciones de universos, etc.
4. Las jerarquías en veo no son posibles , a la vez que en el entrono de BI si lo son.

Al principio de trabajar con un entrono BI-BO ,me hacia un lío con las nomenclaturas y que tenia un entorno u otro, para aprenderme bien el funcionamiento me realice el siguiente esquema que muestra un entorno de SAP BW con Business objects:

Según he estado leyendo y he visto en demos, la versión 4.0 de BO mejora muchas prestaciones, de las cuales destaco las siguientes:

• Querys directamente a cubo, desde Business Objects.
• Webi con HML 5, mucha mejora en el entorno
• Permite la generación de informes para Ipad.
